Children hospitalized for treatment of life-threatening and terminal illnesses often spend hours of time bored and alone. While many hospitals offer a play area where children can do crafts, play or watch television, the common room isn't always a solution for every patient. Maryann Corey and her sister Patricia McGeary reach out to room-bound children through The Portable Playhouse, a volunteer organization that brings jewelry-making projects right to the child's hospital bed.
