Pure water for optical screens

Oxfordshire, UK-based Optical Filters, a manufacturer of electromagnetic interference (EMI) screening systems for displays in military vehicles, tempest monitors and industrial equipment, has installed a reverse osmosis plant from Elga Process Water to solve a production problem with the company's optical screen meshes. The blackened copper mesh screens are produced to a high tolerance and the final water rinse is critical to product quality. In spite of softening the hard local mains water, the rinse left streaks on the surface of the mesh resulting in unusable product.
