Validation of any glove used in a cleanroom is typically a long and demanding process. In the face of an increasingly regulated industrial environment, the needs for disposable gloves have changed dramatically. Two decades ago it was common practice to accept standard gloves in PE packaging for use in the cleanroom. Likewise vinyl gloves were widespread, particularly in the microelectronic industry, but a better understanding of the contamination and barrier issues posed by these types of glove have contributed to their disappearance.
