The draft requirements of GMP Annex 1 for Sterile Medicinal Products include more information on the biodecontamination of cleanrooms; a clear distinction is being made between cleaning and disinfection, the use of a sporicide is specially required and a riskbased approach needs to be taken towards the control of residues.
