THE new XP range of upright vacuum cleaners from Sebo offers high performance cleaning whilst being exceptionally quiet. A powerful rotating brush is essential for good carpet cleaning. However, the combination of a number of parts moving at high speed can generate a significant amount of noise. In designing the XP vacuum cleaners, Sebo engineers were able to start with low noise as an objective from the outset and have successfully muted the harsh frequencies to which the human ear is sensitive. Computer-aided design of noise generating components and smoothing out airflow through the machine has eliminated much of these frequencies at source. Acoustic shielding has further reduced them. The result is, with any form of background noise, the sound from the XP virtually disappears, making it suitable in many cases for daytime cleaning. Indeed, the XP excels in any situation where low noise levels are important.
