2017 Construction Forecast Weakens

THE "EUPHORIA" that influenced the December 2016 economic forecasts for the construction industry has begun evaporating for the second half of 2017, according to the American Institute of Architects' (AIA) most recent Consensus Construction Forecast. Published twice a year for almost 20 years, the forecast projects business conditions for the 12 to 18 months following its publication date, drawing consensus from the individual predictions of seven leading nonresidential construction forecasters in the United States. The most recent forecast, published in June, offered projections for the remainder of 2017 and all of 2018.
