Lean Sigma (Part 1)

I have chosen to make Lean Sigma into a series over the next few columns because, in my humble opinion, PCB fabricators are far past the need for a crash diet. The IMS industry, as a whole, has yet to embrace the lean manufacturing philosophy that has permeated the OEM and EMS industries recently. My supply base pushes back, contending that this is just another "flavor of the month" quality initiative that will soon fall by the wayside.
