IPC Printed Circuits Expo held its maiden voyage at the refurbished Los Angeles Convention Center in the gentrifying downtown Los Angeles. The move to LA from Anaheim did not come without controversy for IPC, but it was a move of necessity for the show, as the Anaheim Convention Center, which is tied in with two of the major hotels, didn't think the IPC show, with its extensive move-in/move-out time frames, created as lucrative a business opportunity for it as some of the consumer-related shows it's attracting.
