IC substrate makers Phoenix Precision Technology (PPT) and Nan Ya Printed Circuit Board (NPC), and packaging house Greatek Electronics are all seeing improved utilization rates thanks to rising orders for PCs and handsets. The backend suppliers are expected to enjoy 10-30% revenue growth sequentially in February, according to company sources. rnOrders for PC applications from AMD and Nvidia recovered in February as they have been trying to build up inventory levels. Orders from VIA Technologies and MediaTek also increased thanks to strong netbook and handset demand. In addition, Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company's (TSMC's) partnership agreement with Intel is expected to increase Intel's backend orders in the future.
