Is the Internet Making Us Smarter or Dumber?

If I were 25 years old, I probably wouldn't be asking this question. But, does the fact that so many more people I run into these days know what I know make me dumber than I used to be? Or, is everybody just smarter now?rnIt's not like I used to crave the attention, but let's face it, when you need technical information and you are the only engineer at the party, guess who gets asked. ;-) These days, when any tough subject comes up in conversation, it's only about 5 seconds before some guy whips out his smart phone and Google's it.
