Vendor Study Finds Pandora Android App Leaked Users' Personal Data to Advertisers

The Pandora application on Android phones may be transmitting personal customer data to advertisers, according to a study by Veracode. Pandora is a free Internet radio service that streams music and recommends songs to users.rnThe application security company evaluated the app and noted that it passed on information including a customer's birthday, gender, GPS location and postal code. While Pandora requests a standard set of information from each customer, it says it didn't know it was sharing the data, according to Veracode. Even so, the application was integrated into five advertising libraries.
