Secrets of the Pin Belt

In the article on the early history of the development of cyan tracks which was published in the Sept. 2001 issue of Cinema Technology, the author mentioned the importance of the pin belt printer. This led, as often happens in our Society, where members are ever ready to help, to a whole trail of information unwinding, as I was referred from one venerable expert to another, each pointing me towards the person who would know most about the subject. To begin with, here are some notes that Julian Hopkinson provided.
