Meet the chief

When I arrived at the Rex to interview Alun Rees we arrived at the same time and I then discovered that it was his day off which he had graciously given over to me, but that is just the sort of person Alun is. We sat in the back row of the empty cinema and he told me his story. Alun was born and raised in South Wales and attended accounting college before starting work in the local hospital in Llanelli on a part time basis. He happened to see a slide on the screen in his local cinema one evening, looking for a projectionist at the Adelphi Burryport. He worked there for 3 months and remembers that the old BTH projectors had hand-fed carbon arcs. He then went back to the office job in the local hospital for some 8 or 9 years and was offered a job as chief clerk in a new Chest Clinic outside the hospital.
