摘要

The most important parameters in solid particles are their size and chemical compositions. However, the structure of the particles (such as crystalline state), specially surface structure, plays even a greater role in some case. To change surface structure and composition of the particles may greatly improve the properties of materials and even create new properties sometimes. Since the particle is small at the range of some micrometers down to some nanometers, the size of surface in the particle iseven small at the range of some unit cells. Therefore, to design and to work the surface of particles are very fine and difficult job, requiring not only atomic level instrument but also molecular process technology. The present work will provide some successful examples in this area.
