A Chinese Way of Democratisation?

Although it is unclear whether China will be fully democratised in the predictable future, evidence reviewed here suggests that China is on the democratisation path. As opposed to the conjecture that economic development has not led to democracy in China, it is shown that democratisation has been closely linked with economic development in the country. To be sure, democratisation is not the intention of the CPC, but precisely because of this fact, we can say that democratisation is inevitable in China.
