Put DDT residues and human health in perspective

Manaca et at. 2011 "Concentration of DDT compounds in breast milk from African women (Manhica, Mozambique) at the early stages of domestic indoor spraying with this insecticide," study the presence of DDT compounds in the breast milk of women in Manhica, Mozambique. Predictably they found higher concentrations in 2006, after the implementation of indoor residual spraying (IRS) with DDT, than in 2002, and conclude that monitoring for health effects in infants should be implemented. Their findings, and the vast amount of evidence collected over several decades on the health effects of DDT, do not warrant this conclusion however.
