Properties of polyester/viscose blended air-jet textured yams

Blended air-jet textured yarns were produced from polyester and viscose multifilament yarns in order to study the effect of various blend ratios on physical properties. It was revealed that the physical bulk of blended air-jet textured yarn increases with the decrease in PET proportion and is maximum in 50:50 PET/viscose blended yarn. The loop instability increases and shrinkage decreases with the decrease in PET proportion in the blended air-jet textured yarn. Tenacity and elongation decrease with the decrease in PET proportion in the polyester/viscose blended air-jet textured yarn.
