Kinetics and thermodynamics of dyeing elastane/spandex fiber with direct dyes

摘要

The elastane/spandex fiber dyed with direct dyes with moderate all round fastness properties. Kinetic and thermodynamic studies of dyeing show that the direct dye is held on the polymer by forming week bonds such as a hydrogen bond. This is further supported by the infrared spectra for elastane/spandex dyed with direct dye (Durazol Red 20) a char- acteristic absorption peak observed for phenolic -O-H band vibration at 1230.5 cm"~1.
