New Graduates Face Tougher Job Market

The job market appears to be tighter for graduating chemical engineers this year compared to last, an informal survey conducted by Chemical Engineering Progress editors shows. More than 54% of respondents seeking jobs had obtained employment, compared to 57% at the same time last year. This, however, is better than the job situation in 1994 when a similar CEP survey of new graduates found that a little more than one-third (35%) of respondents had secured employment.
