Rebound: Why America Will Emerge Stronger from the Financial Crisis

Economist Stephen J. Rose is best known for his poster "Social Stratification in the United States," an eye-catching depiction of the enormity of U.S. economic inequality by occupation, race, gender, and family structure. It has been rightly called "Sociology 101 on a poster." With Dennis Livingston, who did the initial design work, Rose published the first version of the poster in 1978. Since then, four updates have appeared, with each successive version showing the top income group pulling farther away from the middle and the bottom.
