The Future of Economic Idealism in East Asia

Economic idealism in Asia may be in decline. By this, the author means the social cohesion and collective responsibility that has led to rapid but equitable growth. Income is far more unequal than it once was, and politics is becoming more polarized. He uses South Korea as an example of the lost sense of cohesion and is worried that only Europe, not the United States, can instill those values again.
