To this author there is no mystery about the causes of inequality in American. It is the neo-liberal philosophy that markets solves almost all major issues. To reduce inequality, writes John Balder, we must reverse the dominance of finance through government regulation.Women still do most of the caregiving in our families. This will come as no surprise. But what goes too little noticed is that it prevents them from saving adequately for retirement. Christian Weller and Michele E. Tolson examine the evidence and find it convincing.
