Future development of the Indian cement industry

On the occasion of the 12th NCB International Seminar on Cement and Building Materials, successfully held at the end of 2011, Dr. Thomas Weiss, Editor-in-Chief of ZKG INTERNATIONAL, talked with Mr. Ashwani Pahuja, the Director General of the National Council for Cement and Building materials (NCB), India about the needs and development of the Indian cement industry. ZKG: Mr. Pahuja, what are the current hot topics in the Indian cement industry that were discussed at the NCB meeting? Ashwani Pahuja: Some of the important topics discussed at the 12th NCB International Seminar were alternative fuels and raw materials (AFR) and appropriate combustion systems, limestone beneficiation technologies, advances in plant and machinery, process optimization, energy management, total quality management (TQM), cements based on alkaline activation of alumo-sili-cates, Portland limestone cements, utilization of different types of waste materials in cement and concrete, performance, durability and sustainability of concrete systems etc.%Anlässlich des 12.
