High-performance screening plants for the production of high-quality dry mix mortar in Thailand

After supplying two dry mix mortar screening plants to Thailand's biggest cement and mortar manufacturing company in 2011 and 2013, in 2015 Rhewum GmbH was contracted with the supply of two additional dry mix mortar screening plants with an annual production capacity of 1 000000 t each. Both plants were successfully commissioned in early 2017. They each handle a feed rate of 365 t/h of limestone in a wide particle range, which have to be screened into six different fractions with separations at 2.36 mm, 1.18 mm, 0.71 mm, 0.50 mm and 0.15 mm. Aside from the very fine separation of 150 micron at a high feed rate, a major challenge was the installation in the tower high above the silos. Due to Rhewum's drive system with direct-excitation of the screen cloths and static machine housing, considerable savings could be realized on the building's structure, as the screening machines barely transmit any dynamic loads. Further benefits include constantly high product purity in all six fractions, due to the high frequency drives with an integrated self-cleaning cycle for the meshes and very low energy consumption of only 0.13 kWh/t of processed feed material.
