Comcast demos Nortel's 100G system, gears up for wideband in S. FLa.

Honing the cutting-edge of networking technology, Comcast demonstrated 100 Gbps (100G) optical transmission using equipment from Nortel Networks that the vendor had announced only a day prior. Comcast and Nortel believe that the demonstration - which was conducted at the 71st Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) Meeting - was the first-ever field demo of 100G transmission.
