Security issues blanket operators' business markets

Securing the complex, scalable networks that were designed to serve the burgeoning small- to mid-size business market is quickly moving beyond the basic security stage into the tightly locked-down phase. Multiple system operators, along with their smaller siblings, are expanding their business models to include network connections, high-speed data, Internet access, and in a few cases, telephony, as they move into the potentially lucrative market occupied by small businesses, telecommuters and far-flung branch offices of larger companies. In turn, however, the business market is raising the network security bar and demanding more than token security on its networks.
