Report: Comcast fastest ISP, R.I. fastest state in nation

A recent report by Pando Networks found that Comcast was the fastest ISP in the nation with an average download speed of 890 kbps, while Rhode Island was first on a state-by-state basis with an average speed of 894 kbps. For the major ISPs, Pando excluded business and private networks in its study, and while it didn't specifically mention DOCSIS 3.0 wideband tiers, Comcast no doubt benefited to some degree by having it enabled in more than 85 percent of its footprint.
