CED's Persons of the Year: Time Warner Cable's Mike and Mike take a curtain call

Lewis and Clark, Hope and Crosby, Cheech and Chong, Batman and Robin, Penn and Teller, LaJoie and Hayashi. As of the end of last year, both Mike Hayashi and Mike Lajoie officially retired from Time Warner Cable, but over the course of 25 years or so, the two Mikes were cable's own version of a dynamic duo. (Just don't ask them which one was Batman and which was Robin.) For their long, distinguished careers at Time Warner Cable, Hayashi and Lajoie were named CED's Persons of the Year. Hayashi, who retired as executive vice president-architecture, development & engineering, joined Time Warner Cable in 1992 while Lajoie, executive vice president and chief technology and network operations officer, started out at Time Warner in 1994. Over the years, Time Warner Cable worked closely with Bright House Networks on many industry technologies and services. Bright House Networks president Nomi Bergman said that while Mike Hayashi and Mike Lajoie we're "very different" they shared common traits such as cultivating strong teamwork and developing great teams as well as a shared passion for innovation and the pursuit of excellence.
