Development of Ag/Al_2O_3 catalysts for the reduction of lean NOx

Ag/Al_2O_3 catalysts have been developed for removing Diesel Nox with ethanol. Fundamental aspects of Nox reduction with ethanol over the Ag/Al_2O_3 catalyst were summarized. In addition, the results of the bench scale test on the Ag/Al_2O_3-ethanol system using real lean-burning gas engine and Diesel engine exhaust gas were reported. Based on these findings, development of Ag/Al_2O_3 catalysts for the reduction of Nox from the stationary Diesel engines was discussed.
