Communidades de Lombrices de Tierra (Annelida: Oligochaeta) en un Bosque Siempre Verde y un Pastizal de Sierra del rosario, Cuba

Earthworm populations in an evergreen tropical forest and a grassland at Sierra del Rosario, Cuba, were sampled by hand-sorting during two years (from March, 1992 to April, 1994). Taxonomical Composition, vertical distribution, population density and biomass were studied. In the forest, density and Total biomass were 117 ind.m~-2 and 27.4 gm~-2 respectively; higher than quantities reported by other authors In similar ecosystems.
