AIR FRANCE/KLM CLOSE TO FINALIZING ALL- CARGO JOINT VENTURE WITH CHINA SOUTHERN

China Southern Airines says it plans to have an all-cargo joint venture with Air France/KLM set up and running by the end of the year. Discussion of the project has been underway for some time, but in its annual report filed with the Shanghai Stock Exchange, China Southern said it was "actively pushing forward the joint venture project with Air France-KLM to develop the scale of our cargo transportation capacity," and the carrier's Chairman Liu Shaoyong was quoted in The South China Morning Post as saying the jv would be registered by the end of 2008.
