All modern, high-bandwidth oscilloscopes designed today employ digital signal processing (DSP) in one form or another. Certainly the use of DSP is now so pervasive in electrical design that it is often taken for granted. It is widely used in the following applications: rn1. Audio signal processing providing sound equalization, noise detection and elimination, effect creation, or speech processing/recognition.rn2. Audio and video signal compression.
