Greater expectations for internal auditors

Internal auditors are now expected to do more than ever before, according to a new Ernst & Young global survey. The shift is sending ripple effects through the industry, creating both challenges and opportunities. For its Global Internal Audit Survey, Ernst & Young interviewed 138 internal auditor executives in 24 countries. The results show that while compliance has dominated the work of internal auditors for the past several years (primarily due to Sarbanes-Oxley/NI 52-109), this is no longer enough.
