One aspect of the bus industry that has been lost almost completely in recent years is the official company photographer. This is understandable, given cost pressures and the huge numbers of pictures now taken by enthusiasts. Few events now go unrecorded. Fifty or more years ago, when film was relatively expensive and information was harder to obtain, one can see the value of the photo archives created by the more forward thinking operators. Unfortunately, many collections are not accessible to the public or have been split up, and few offer the facility to buy copies.
