Gemini trio revives the spirit of the Green Line RMC

First Berkshire has reintroduced double-deck operation to part of the surviving Green Line London commuter coach network with three high-specification Wright Eclipse Gemini-bodied Volvo B9TLs. The buses - termed 'twin-deck' following the fashion set by Blazefield with similar buses on its Leeds-Harrogate-Ripon service in 2004 - reduce the need for duplicate coaches on the increasingly busy 701 and 702 services linking London with Slough, Windsor and the Legoland theme park. They have 64 Esteban leather seats, 39 Ergos models upstairs and 25 Civic V3s downstairs, with four on each deck arranged around tables, complete with a power socket for charging laptops and mobile phones. They also have free wi-fi connections and an upper-deck air chill system with locks on windows to control the temperature. Best Impressions has adapted the current Green Line livery to suit their lines, and in a straight lift from Stagecoach's approach to supporting brands like Megabus, they carry the words 'Brought to you by First' on the side panels.
