East Yorkshire Motor Services has won the North Yorkshire County Council contract to operate a new park-&-ride service in Scarborough later this year. Work has begun on car parks at Seamer Road and Filey Road, each of which requires three buses to provide services up to eight times an hour at peak periods, and East Yorkshire is spending nearly £800,000 on six low emission Euro5-engined Volvo B7RLEs with Scarborough-built Plaxton Centra bodies, which will wear a dedicated livery created in Middlesbrough by the House of Type consultancy. They will be East Yorkshire's first Centros and have 44 seats with additional luggage space and a pen for folded pushchairs.
