Glasgow City Council announced its intention in August for a statutory quality partnership to cover bus services in a large part of the city from next April.rnThe council believes this is necessary to improve services for passengers and reduce pollution. It has invested £30million in its Streamline routes since they came into operation in 2005, providing new shelters, raised kerbs, new lighting, security cameras and real-time bus information. Traffic signals give priority to buses, which are tracked by closed-circuit television, and dedicated parking attendants ensure these routes are kept clear.
