If you have not clicked on arrivabus. co.uk recently, you will find that Arriva has substantially revised the appearance of its main website for bus information in this country. The updated site generally has a cleaner and more modern look, with clearer graphics and a less cluttered feeling. Visitors are now greeted by a screen allowing service numbers to be entered and searched for across the whole of the company's network. Before, it was necessary to get to company or town level before a search was possible-although town searches remain an option. Entering route 5, for example, now returns services in Arriva Midlands, Arriva North East and Southern Counties, as well as everything else beginning with 5 (e.g. 501). However, this is arranged alphabetically by operator name, so Arriva Midlands always appears first, and Arriva Wales last. In some cases, a mixture of service numbers is grouped together-as in a printed leaflet-and that sometimes leaves the search engine unable to return exactly the route requested. For example, I could not find Southern Counties' route 7 (Tunbridge Wells-Maidstone), only a summary for part of the route shared with the 77 and 402. Timetables remain in the very clear website format that Arriva has used for several years.
