Ayres graces Yorkshire Olympian in Fife

Among the newcomers at the Scottish Vintage Bus Museum's annual open weekend at Lathalmond on 14/15 August was this Northern Counties-bodied Leyland Olympian masquerading as something that never was. A103 OUC was new to South Yorkshire Road Transport of Pontefract in April 1984 as its 103, but has been painted in Fife Scottish livery of Ayres red and cream livery and numbered FRO11. The only Fife Olympians in Scottish Bus Croup days were Alexander RL-bodied FRO1-10 (A981-90 FLS) new in November 1983, none of which survives. There is a Fife connection with A103 OUC, which saw service with Rennie's of Dunfermline some time after sale by Arriva.
