Twelve new double-deckers delivered to Dundee Corporation included 11 AEC Regent Ills, 139-46 (AY) 369-76) with bodies by Barnard of Norwich arriving between January and March, and 147-9 (BTS 117-9) bodied by Brockhouse of Clydebank following in September. It is not known why 147-9 received BTS registrations, as the AYJ series was not completed at the time they appeared. Croft-bodied Daimler CVD6 125 (AYJ 377) was the next bus into service in December, but similar 126/7 (AYJ 378/9) were not put to work until after the New Year holiday. As was happening in other Scottish fleets around then, advertisements began to appear on the exterior panels of Dundee's buses and trams in November.
