During the year, A. &C McLennan of Spittalfield acquired 26 vehicles. New Leyland Tiger PS1 40 (DES 241) had operator-built bodywork, but other single-deck purchases were six Duple Vista-bodied Bedford OBs, three utility Bedford OWBs and ex-Chesterfield all-Leyland Tiger TS8 56 (ERA 92). The double-deck intake comprised two ex-Chesterfield Metro-Cammell-bodied AEC Regents, two ex-Birmingham City Transport all-Leyland Titan TD7s and 11 Metro-Cammell-bodied Titan TD6s, also ex-Birmingham. TD7 51 (FOF281) differed considerably from the rest; following wartime bomb damage, BCT fitted it with a replacement Metro-Cammell top deck from a 1933 Morris Commercial. All the Birmingham buses entered service in BCT livery.
