It seems to me that the issue of quality contracts just will not go away and so far the new government has done nothing to suggest a change of direction. The two Yorkshire PTE/ITAs continue their work towards quality contracts and so perhaps I might be permitted to express an alternative view. Look at both conurbations involved and note the principal incumbent operator in both cases: coincidence? Not when you add in the well-known views of the MP for Manchester Blackley, and again it is the same operator that has been dragged through the traffic commissioners' courts since that operator's inception, from south-west England to, most recently, north-east Scotland.
