NCB meets Gemini down by the riverside

Phil Halewood found these painted images of past and present buses or a community mural beside the River Kelvin in Glasgow's West End. The First Eclipse Gemini is an acceptable if slightly lopsided representation of one of today's bus design icons, but I was particularly taken by the accompanying choice of Glasgow Corporation bus of old. Certainly not the most numerous type, even in its day, but one of 20 Northern Coach Builders-bodied Daimler CVD6s new in 1949. The childlike double-decker on the panel next to the Gemini has its merits, too.
