The OFT and the bus industry inquiry

I read with interest Brian Cox's Inside Track article 'Many a time the OFT have rated us' last month. There are a couple of material errors within the article, which I would like to correct.rnTurning first to the issue of mergers, Mr Cox is critical of the OFT's merger investigations of Stagecoach/Islwyn Borough Transport and Go-Ahead/ Plymouth Citybus. He may not be aware that in both cases the parties chose to inform the OFT about the merger. The OFT was therefore under a statutory duty to conduct an investigation and publish its decision.
