In the 1980s, trevor Walsh started a private hire operation with one 12-seat minibus and the security of a regular workers' contract. In the 1990s, he began running minibuses on frequent local services in Halifax and today the companyrnis still family-owned with nothing but minibuses. In 2000, it became thernHalifax Bus Company Ltd. On the face of it, such a fleet might sound a bit dull, but as well as the morerncommonplace minibuses, some unusual vehiclesrnhave also been owned. In 2009, that number still included an open-top Ford Transit, which had earlier seen regular use on the streets of Halifax plus a less remarkable, but still interesting, Iveco Daily 59-12 with a body by Bedwas, which I photographed in Halifax town centre last May.
