Plymouth city council has surprised the bus world by selling Plymouth Citybus, its arms' length bus company, to Co-Ahead Croup for £20million.rnThe deal was completed on 1 December, when Go South Coast operations director Andrew Wickham was appointed managing director at Plymouth and Citybus's previous MD, John Ackroyd, agreec to take on a group role with Co-Ahead in London.rnIt came only six months after the Conservative-controlled council invited bids from potential buyers in what its leader, Vivian Pengelly, said then was primarily a market testing exercise to determine the value of the bus company.
