The buses in these two books come no newer than a T-registered Highland Omnibuses Fleetline in the Inverness-shire volume and a W-registered Stagecoach Volvo B58 in Perthshire, for Robert Grieves specialises in portraying earlier decades' road transport -from the dawn of the motor age through periods of intense and rapid development with little need to show much beyond the end of the 1950s.rnAs with the publisher's earlier Wheels Around... titles, many of them compiled by Grieves, they portray all forms of transport involving wheels. There are more buses than anything else, but also lorries, cars, trains, paddle steamers, wheelbarrows, prams, carriages and carts, pictures accompanied by captions packed with information about the people, places and vehicles they depict - mainly in the years when most people depended on public transport.
