Berlin's BVG undertaking is recalling 211 of its MAN Lion's City A39 six-wheel double-deckers for inspection after hairline cracks were found in the front axles of similar buses tested before delivery to the Arab emirate of Dubai.rnThe Berlin buses have the same type of axle although so far no cracks have been found. 'This is a preventive measure but we are taking it very seriously,' says Berliner Verkehrsbetriebe chief Andreas Sturmokwski. 'The safety of our vehicles and that of our passengers and staff has the highest priority. Even if there is only a hint of suspicion we will follow it up.'
