I am indebted to regular correspondent Malcolm Chase for some observations of his travels around the eastern side of the West Country (as defined by Traveline, i.e. including Hampshire) plus Surrey on Wilts & Dorset, Stagecoach and Countryliner. His themes are familiar: buses not boarding passengers in good time and then and therefore running late, but he also believes that this may be partly down to timings being too tight on many services and journeys being late because of 'the late arrival of the incoming bus'.
