Unless you live in or have visited Paisley, Dumbarton or Motherwell in the past few years, the chances are that you will not have seen an Isuzu bus or coach in Britain, for it is in these places where most have operated with the council fleets of Renfrewshire, West Dunbartonshire and North Lanarkshire respectively. It was at Coach & Bus 97 that the Japanese-built Isuzu made its bow in the UK, although the model had been in production for several years. On show was an unregistered example of the NPR powered by a 3.851itre, four-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine coupled to a five-speed manual gearbox.
